Australia, Vietnam aim for $220 billion in trade

The Australia - Vietnam Trade Promotion Program 2025 was recently held in Hanoi. The event was organized by the Vietnam - South Australia Trade Promotion Association (AVCC), providing detailed information on the market, cooperation potential and support policies from the two governments.

Since upgrading relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024, trade cooperation between Vietnam and Australia has grown significantly, thereby opening up new opportunities and promoting cooperation between businesses of the two countries.  In 2024, two-way trade turnover reached about 14 billion USD.

At the Australia - Vietnam Trade Promotion Program 2025, businesses of the two countries have the opportunity to exchange, discuss, promote trade activities and sign cooperation agreements.

Ms. Betty Dang, Vice President of the Vietnam - South Australia Trade Promotion Association (AVCC) said: "The Australia - Vietnam Trade Promotion Event 2025 has attracted the participation of 20 multi-industry enterprises from Vietnam. As a bridge, we hope to create more opportunities for Vietnamese and Australian enterprises to learn, meet, or share their stories, thereby discovering more investment potential in many fields where both sides have strengths such as agriculture, manufacturing, labor, investment, or high technology.

Vietnam and Australia have just celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations, and the two countries have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, many open policies have been and will continue to be approved, so I believe this is a favorable time for businesses from both sides to cooperate better and be more successful".

At the event, many cooperation agreements were signed. 20 billion USD is the trade turnover target that the two countries are aiming for.
